I’m so thrilled to be able to share the new variant covers for the Japanese translation of United States of Japan. The mass market paperback is being split into two smaller books and the cover release has already been retweeted thousands of times, which is mind-blowing, especially considering it was a national holiday in Japan when the covers were revealed. I’m so excited to be working with Hayakawa and am always in awe of John’s stunning work who is one of the most brilliant artists I’ve had the privilege of working with.
The actual release date is October 21st, meaning we’re just a week away from the official release. I’m excited and nervous, almost like a second book birthday. There’s always a sense of anticipation and hope that it does well. So far, the response has been great, and I’m seriously grateful to everyone in Japan whose helped make this happen.
For any of my Japanese readers who are curious about the opening, here’s the first chapter translated by the wonderful Nakahara-san.
