Valentine’s and the first excerpt from United States of Japan published at Tor.com

“The death of the United States of America began with a series of signatures.” That’s the very first line of the United States of Japan and if you’ve been curious about the book, Tor.com has published an exclusive excerpt from the opening chapter which takes place 40 years before the book really starts and follows the days right after the Empire conquers America. Or to quote from my intro:

“This opening chapter takes place forty years before the events of USJ and is about Ben’s parents who were locked away in a Japanese-American Internment Camp, waiting to find out their fate.”

Feel super honored to have my fiction on Tor.com, of course. Also just thrilled to finally get to share something actually from the book. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Valentine’s day!
