If you’re near the Eiffel Tower, make sure to check out Les Cocottes. They get pretty crowded, but if you can time it so you arrive for an early lunch, it’s a healthy and clean lunch. It’s run by Chef Christian Constant, who I think showed up in Top Chef. I don’t know much about celebrity chefs and have been to too many lauded restaurants that weren’t very good to give it much credence. But Cocottes are fun, inventive, and best of all, reasonably priced. The official definition of cocottes means: “a covered, heatproof dish or casserole in which food can be both cooked and served; a Dutch oven.” I thought of French versions of hot stoned bibimbap, only with a variety of different dishes, ha ha. Above is pig ear, which was, despite my reservations, very tasty. The salad below was incredible as well as the cocottes with potatoes which was their lunch special of the day.
