As I’ve been reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, I was stunned to find out it had been rejected 121 times before finally getting picked up. The author, Robert Pirsig, persisted and persisted until he found a home for the book. It’s a reminder, not just in literature, but in any aspiration or dream we have- persist and never giveup. I know it sounds cheesy, but at the same time, the simplicity of it belies how difficult it is. If Pirsig had given up, we would never have had the fortune of reading such a thoughtful and inspiring book!
